Our kiddos will be back to school before we know it. Summer feels like it's passing so quickly! As we get closer to the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year in Skagit County, I know many of you will be looking for the back-to-school events that our local schools and churches hold for families in need of free school supplies, clothing, haircuts, etc. These events are uplifting and everyone has a good time!

Open to families with children and teens who could use assistance with back-to-school supplies.
The annual Ready to Learn Fair helps kids start the year feeling proud. ASF and community partners provide back-to-school essentials including backpacks and supplies, books, gently used clothing, resources and information. A team of dedicated volunteers puts the fair on with the support of the Anacortes School District and funding from ASF.

There will be many groups and organizations focusing on kids in grades K-8th grade. There will be games and activities to enjoy, along with numerous craft and information tables. Several free services including vision screenings, dental and orthodontic screenings, signing up for free/reduced lunches, healthy lunch ideas, free school supplies, and free gently used clothing will be available throughout the day.

BRINGING BEAUTY BACK TO SCHOOL

The Evergreen Beauty College will be providing FREE back to school haircuts, mini facials, mini manicures for all kids K-12th grade. Services will be provided on a first come first serve basis and supervised by our licensed instructors.
