Back to School Blessing - Mount Vernon: FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES

 
The 19th annual "Back to School Blessing" event is returning to Skagit Valley College at Tollefson Plaza on Saturday August 17, 2024, starting at 9:00am until noon or supplies run out. This free event is to assist children in need as they prepare for the coming school year. We will be providing free backpacks for children (grades K-12) in need within the Skagit Valley, along with other resources such as free:• Gently used clothing• Haircuts for children• Hot brunch• Live music and Folklorico performances• Face painting and activities for kids• Referrals to community resources- we will have over 30 booths handing things out!This is an all ages community event, where faith communities come together to sponsor and organize a morning for families before the school year begins, with community organizations in the Skagit Valley participating.
