Back for the first time since 2019! Pickford Film Center presents the Bellingham Children’s Film Festival featuring three separate programs of animated short films and a special interactive animation workshop for kids in the lobby along with some other fun stuff.
All three programs will be shown on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19.

THE FILM PROGRAMS
Drawn in Drizzle: Animation From Washington Filmmakers (all ages)
Be amazed at the talent that resides in Washington State! Fifteen shorts and short-shorts featuring delightfully animated tales that can be appreciated by all ages. Talking whales, fuzzy food, dislocated bears, ladybugs and local history all take center stage. This program originates from the Pickford and includes Bellingham-based filmmakers. Animators include Bellinghamsters Phoebe Wahl and Bradley James Lockhart along with Clyde Petersen, Andrea Love, John Osebold, Webster Crowell, Stefan Gruber, Britta Johnson, Tess Martin and Drew Christie.
Hopeful Harmonies (Early learners and primary
Twelve short films from eight different countries that will take you on a fanciful international musical journey. Carefully curated by Children’s Film Festival Seattle from their 2023 edition, some of these films are nonverbal, some are in English and a few have subtitles but music is the universal language that everyone can understand. Parents can feel free to read subtitles aloud, for non-readers and early readers.
Warm and Fuzzy (Ages 2+)
Follow along as these critters and kids embark on adventures of friendship, family, and learning to be oneself. This colorful collection of animated films will leave you radiating love and light. The films included come to the Pickford from our friends at Children’s Film Festival Seattle. They have been gathered for us from filmmakers in six different countries and are all brand new.
