CMSC’s Sensory Exploration is a special monthly program for families with children on the autism spectrum, children with sensory processing disorders, and children with other developmental disabilities. During this time the Children’s Museum provides these families exclusive access to the Museum.
- Children ages 1-12 years are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
- Sensory Kits with sound-dampening headphones, sunglasses, chewies, and fidgets.
- Enjoy a safe and understanding environment.
- Play during a quieter, low-lighted, less crowded time.

- Pre-registration is no longer required – session is free to attend.
Special Monthly Programs at the Children's Museum:
Community Access (Free) Day: 2nd Tuesday of the month from 10 AM-4 PM. Admission is "pay as you can", which includes no charge, in order to reduce barriers for children and families.
Masked Up Mondays: 1st Monday of the month from 10 AM-12 PM
Make It & Take It: Every Wednesday from 4-5 PM
Take Flight Friday: 3rd Friday of the month from 3-4 PM
Sensory Explorations Program: 2nd Thursday of the month from 4:30-6 PM & 4th Sunday of the month from 10 AM-12 PM

The Museum will be open on these holidays: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day (Washington’s Birthday), Labor Day, Veteran’s Day Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
The Museum will be closed: Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
